A China Government Economic and Trade Delegation Visiting Liberia

Dr. Fu Ziying, Vice Minister of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, which is in charge of China's foreign aid and foreign economic relations, will lead a delegation to visit Liberia from April 22 to 25, 2010 as part of his 5-nation (Chad, Central Africa, Gabon, Liberia and Congo (Brazzaville) )tour in Africa.

His delegation will be 40 strong, comprising 14 government officials, 21 business executives and 5 journalists. The purpose of the visit is to improve China's aid work in Africa and promote trade and economic cooperations with said countries.

Duing his stay in Liberia, Deputy Minister Fu will pay a courtesy call on President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, hold officail bilateral talks with relevant ministers or their deputies, sign 6 documents on aid to and economic cooperation with Liberia, witness the lauching of the Bong Mine project, have dialogues with diplomats and jourlists on issues of Sino-African relations and attend a Forum on Economic and Trade Cooperation with Liberia and etc.

Vice Minister Fu and his entourage will also visit some China aided projects like the SKD Stadium, the Banboo and Ramten Weaving Training Program, the Vegtible Growing Program and the Fendall Campus where he will meet representatives of the Chinese aid workers in Liberia to raise their moral and encourage them to make meaningful contribution to the post-war reconstruction in Liberia.
