BEIJING, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Vice President Xi Jinping Thursday respectively met with visiting European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek to discuss the European debt crisis, economic ties and climate change.

"I believe that European countries could overcome difficulties emerging during their economic recovery through the practice of unity and coordination," Wen told Buzek during their 45-minute meeting in Beijing.

Wen reaffirmed China's support for the integration of Europe and pledged to enhance mutual trust and cooperation as ties had entered an important period of development.
