H.E. Ambassador Fu Jijun and Madam Liu Sha,

H.E. Former Vice President of the Republic of Liberia, Ambassador Joseph Nyumah Boakai,

H.E. the Speaker and members of the 54th Legislature,

The Honorable Minister of State and officials of government present,

The Doyen and members of the Diplomatic Corps,

Excellences, distinguished ladies and gentlemen!

It's an honor and pleasure for us to be here tonight, to welcome the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Liberia. We want to say a special thank you to Ambassador for inviting all of us this evening to welcome you to our beautiful country.

We know that your stay here will be a successful one, as our government continues to maintain its policy on the One China Policy. We look forward to working with you in a win-win situation as a new cooperation between states. It's also a mutual cooperation, respect and mutual collaboration, as we understand that whatever happens in one part of the world actually affects every parts. China, as a global governance has gone across the world, making friends, encouraging countries regardless of their size or the per capita income, or the status of its people and showing that truly they are indeed friend of the world. We want to thank you.

Our both peoples and governments are similar in many ways, which you will find as you enjoy your stay here in Monrovia. Both countries have a policy of that are people-centered, entrusted in improving the lives of those are not only disadvantaged but ensuring that each one wherever you are in the country, has the opportunity to be what you want to be. We also have a government policy similar to that of the People's Republic of China, good neighborliness and friendship, and hope our people are very warm and friendly so you won't feel too much out of home because you will find Liberia is almost like where you have come from.

We look forward to a long standing and mutual relationship between our both countries. Let me on behalf of His Excellency Ambassador George Manned Weah, our entire government and people say a very special thank you for all that you continue to do. From way before our time to Ebola, to the projects that you continue to do to enhance government ability to handle issues of infrastructure development, health care and education, we are grateful for the relationship and the friendship. I hope one day, Liberia will go to the point where too can be able to go to other countries and help in improving the livelihood of other peoples of the world.

And so, it's my distinguish honor, to on behalf of H.E. Ambassador George Manneh Weah and our government extend or proffer a toast for the welcome reception of H.E. the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China. Welcome to our country, we know that you will have a successful sojourn and we look forward to working with you.
