The Second Chinese Medical team arrived in Monrovia on the October 17, 2007 to replace the first one, which had been working in JFK Hospital for two years from September 2005.

There was one week overlap in which the first team passed on all the experience the team members have gained in the past two years and introduced some of their patients to the new team to facilitate the continuity of their work and to provide better services to the local patients.

The 9-member team from a hospital in Jiamusi, a city near the Chinese border with Russia overcame all sorts of difficulties such as language barrier, homesickness and etc, tried their best to serve the local people.  As a result, they have won the trust and friendship of the Liberian government and people.  The first team left Liberia for home on October 24, 2007.  Before its departure, Liberian President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Vice President Boakai, the Health Minister and the Chinese Ambassador held separate seeing-off functions for them and thanked them for their excellent services in Liberia.

On October 28, 2007, the Chinese Ambassador Mr. Zhou Yuxiao visited the members of the second team and encouraged them to do a better job as they can make use of the experience gained by the first team.
