H.E. Ambassador Zhou Yuxiao, when paying a courtesy call on Mr. Charles Clarke, Chairman of the ruling Unity Party (UP) of Liberia at its headquarters in Monrovia, Wednesday, expressed thanks for the party's message of congratulations to the 17^th Congress of the Communist Party of China, saying that the letter from President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, stand-bearer of UP, to Secretary General Hu Jintao of C.P.C. illustrate the sincere and friendly sentiments the Unity Party of Liberia cherishes for the Communist Party of China. 

Ambassador Zhou noted that exchange between political parties is an important component of bilateral relations, expressing satisfaction that Sino-Liberian relations have developed rapidly since the Unity Party came to the helm of the state. The Ambassador reaffirmed that the Communist Party of China is willing to further strengthen friendly relations with all the political parties of Liberia including the UP.

Happily recalling the development of the relations between UP and C.P.C. , Chairman Clarke lauded the latter for its political concept of  assuming and exercising the power truly on behalf of the people, from which, the Chairman admitted, the Unity Party has drawn much inspiration. Mr. Clarke, being thankful for China's aid to Liberia in all fields, pointed out that Liberia is at an important era of post-war reconstruction and the Unity Party has planned to implement a series of vocational training programs in the capital and around the country to train skilled personnel for national economic construction.

Ambassador Zhou and Chairman Clarke also discussed issues such as cooperation in private sector between Chinese and Liberian enterprises.

Ambassador Zhou, accompanied by Mr. Clarke, visited the computer training class at the UP headquarters and chatted cordially with the trainees and gave an interview to the reporters present afterwards.
