In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador Zhou said, Sino-Liberian relations has witnessed quick development in the past few years with increasing exchanges in all areas, including culture exchanges. This forthcoming visit by Liberia Culture Troupe is arranged by the Chinese Government under the framework of China-Africa Cooperation Forum. The size of the Liberian delegation is larger than other delegations from other African nations. It reflects the importance the Chinese Government attached to Sino-Liberia relations. The Chinese people always have good feelings towards African people and are very fond of and interested in its culture, which is quite different from China’s. Both sides can learn from each other through exchanges. Ambassador Zhou hopes the culture troupe will act as a “crusader of friendship”, promoting the development of bilateral relations and wishes them have a happy stay and successful performance in China.

On behalf of her delegation, Madam Endee thanked China’s invitation and expressed her wishes to learn from her Chinese counterparts and hoped to bring joy and fun to Chinese people through their performance.

On October 2nd, the Culture Troupe staged a rehearsal performance for the Chinese peacekeepers in Liberia.
