By the Chinese Embassy in Liberia (08/11/11) On the morning of November 10, the Chinese Embassy in Liberia held a flag-raising ceremony in its newly-built compound, which is situated at Back Road, Congo Town, Monrovia.
After the ceremony, Chinese Ambassador Zhou Yuxiao made a brief speech to the Embassy staff. He said China is the first country that has built a new embassy compound in Liberia in recent years, which is a display of the importance China has attached to the Sino-Liberian relations, and, at the same time, an embodiment of Chinese government's great care to its diplomatic personnel working in hard conditions. He urged all the staff, by taking full advantage of the much improved working and living conditions, to work even harder for the further improvement of the bilateral relations.
The construction of the new Embassy compound was started in March 2007 and it is now almost fully functional. |
