Guug Hay Fat Choy: Liberian President's Spring Festival Greeting

Monrovia Liberia-As another Chinese traditional New Year is on its way coming, Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf paid a visit to Chinese Embassy in Liberia, and sent her special Spring Festival greeting to the staff members of the Embassy as well as the Chinese People afar, leading an array of her several cabinet ministers on Sunday, January 10, 2009.

Ambassador ZHOU Yuxiao expressed his sincere welcome and deepest appreciations towards the Liberian President and her cabinet ministers for their delightful presence, and also for having received tremendous helps and assistances from the Liberian Government since he assumed his duty in 2007. "As 2010 is a year of Tiger, meaning a year of Vigor and Perseverance", The senior envoy assured guests present, of his vigorous and unyielding devoteness towards strengthening the bilateral relationship between China and Liberia, a relationship proved to be fruitful and beneficial both to China and also Liberia.

President Sirleaf, on her part, extolled Chinese Ambassador and his staff members for their hardworking devoteness, expressed satisfaction towards the existing bilateral relationship between Liberia and China and reiterated her support to Ambassador ZHOU's duty discharge in Liberia. At the Chinese Ambasador's simple yet elegantly decorated residence, President Sirleaf showed deep interest in the traditional styled Chinese Charactors and decorations. When kindly requested by Chinese Ambassador ZHOU Yuxiao to make greetings to Chinese colleagues, President Sirleaf surprised everyone in a quite unexpected but pleasant way as saying "Xin Nian Kuai Le! Hu Nian Ji Xiang! Guug Hay Fat Choy!", which she just learnt minutes ago from Amb. ZHOU.

Among the guests were Liberian Finance Minister, Lands and Minies Minister, Defense Minister , the Chairman of the National Investment Committee and some other high profile government officials.
