Monrovia, Liberia,30 June 2010-Chinese ambassador to Liberia, HE ZHOU Yuxiao, and his wife Nancy Wu, were honored and decorated onTuesday, 29 June, at a colorful ceremony held at the Headquarters Office of the Liberia Concern Women Development Association(LICOWDA) in Monrovia.

Speaking at the occasion, President of LICOWDA, Madam Esther Dahn, congratulated the Chinese ambassador couple for the zeal and devotion they have been manifesting in the discharge of the duties, thereby earning the admiration and honor bestowed of the people of Liberia. She also recounted the support Liberia people has received from China such as the construction of hospital, school, stadium etc., noting that the long-standing brotherly ties which bind the two countries are deeply rooted in the hearts of the Liberian. "We, the grassroots women organization would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank-you to you and your wife!", the LICOWDA President said. "Momo"and "Masa", the Chinese Ambassador and his wife were  given a local name respectively, meaning " farmer" and "hardworking woman" in Liberian vocabulary.

The Chinese highest diplomat in Liberia welcomed the honor bestowed upon him by LICOWDA and the people represented by the grassroots NGO, and thanked the guests present for the kindness has being accorded him. “I will continue to work tirelessly together with my embassy colleagues for the betterment and furtherance of the China Liberia friendship.” Ambassador ZHOU assured the people present.
