Your Excellency,

On the occasion of the 163rd Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Liberia, on behalf of the Government and the people of the People's Republic of China and in my own name, I wish to express heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to you, and through you, to the Government and the people of the Republic of Liberia.

During the past year, the Government and people of Liberia, under the leadership of Your Excellency, pushed forward the cause of peace and reconstruction in a comprehensive manner, actively promoted the national reconciliation, and made remarkable achievements in realizing national stabilization, economic development and steady improvement of the people's lives. Liberia also actively engaged itself in interactions with the outside world and worked hard for the maintenance of regional peace and stability. We wish to express our felicitation to Liberia on all the achievements made in its national construction and may Liberia continue to make greater strides on its way to national rejuvenation.

In the past few years, the bilateral relations between China and Liberia have witnessed a robust development. Our bilateral political trust has been strengthened. The new achievements made in our bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, agriculture, mining and etc. have benefitted our two peoples. The Chinese side attaches great importance to the China-Liberia friendship and cooperation. It is willing to work together with Liberian side to move the China-Liberia friendly and cooperative relations forward in a healthy and smooth manner.
