Chinese Embassy Making Medicine Donation to Liberia's Health Sector

Monrovia, Liberia, Nov. 26: Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, Zhou Yuxiao, has reiterated Chinese Government’s commitment to the development of the health and medical sector of Liberia, while he attended a China-aid Medicine handover ceremony in J.F.K. Medical Center on Friday.

Making remarks during the ceremony, the senior envoy reaffirmed his government’s willingness in helping Liberia achieve its goals through its own small but meaningful ways in the area of medical and health sector, a key pillar for postwar development set out in the Liberian Government’s Poverty Reduction Strategy. Ambassador Zhou also enumerated the China-aid projects and programs in the health sector such as Tappita Hospital, Anti-Malaria Center, capacity training for Liberian medical workers etc.. Flanked by 9 Chinese Medical Team members working in J.F.K. Medical Center, Ambassador Zhou further expressed his optimistic sentiment towards the closer cooperation between China and Liberia in the area of health and medicine, and looked forward greater achievements for the Liberian Government and its people’s health welfare.  According to his revelation, the value of the donated medicine amounts to 40,000 USD.
