Monrovia, Liberia- Liberia’s Second Lady Mrs.Kartumu Y. Boakai has commended the Chinese Embassy’s meaningful contribution to the Group of ’77 as she receives an assorted donation of computers, printers and etc. on Thursday.

The Liberian Second Laday, who is also Executive Director of the Group, told inmates of the Group of ’77 present cheering the handover of the donation that since she took over the Management of the organization, she has been receiving generous support from Chinese Embassy to Liberia on a number of occasions, “The Chinese always come to our help whenever the organization meets problem.”

Responding, Madam Nancy Wu, spouse of Ambassador ZHOU Yuxiao, expressed the willingness and commitment of her embassy in identifying with the Group of ’77 and assisting the organization’s noble pursuit. “We hope our donation can be an inspiring push for the disable inmates of the Group to their brighter future and we will be always behind you, Madam Second Lady, for your noble undertaking as the Executive Director.”

As a local humanitarian organization providing technical training and counseling support to the disables, the Group of ’77 now boasts of an up-to-date elementary school, a sewing department, and a clinic, with inmates being fed twice a day. The Chinese Embassy in Liberia has been making such donation on a regular basis, a way of playing its role in improving the welfare of the disables in Liberia.
