Amb. ZHOU: Satisfied with the China-Liberia Relationship

Monrovia, Liberia, Dec. 29, 2010: Mr. ZHOU Yuxiao, Chinese Ambassador accredited to Liberia, has expressed his satisfaction towards the bilateral relationship that currently subsists between China and Liberia, as he answered questions at ELBC Radio Studio on Friday.

While attending the live talk show, Amb. ZHOU also congratulated the Liberian Government and its people for the great achievements realized thus far on their way of peace and reconstruction, such as the cancellation of its foreign debts up to 4.9 billion USD, the successful attraction of 16 billion FDI, and an impressive 7.7% GDP growth in 2010 etc..

On China-Liberia relationship, the Chinese senior envoy enumerated several important visits between the two governments. Among them, he spoke highly of the significance of the visits by Liberia's Vice President and its Speaker to China and also the Chinese Vice Commerce Minister Fu Zhiying's visit to Liberia. Amb. ZHOU expressed his happiness to see the timely handover of the China-aided three projects during the Independence Day celebration and looked forward to a more fruitful cooperation between the Embassy and the Liberian counterpart in the implementation of more China-aided projects in the coming year.
