New Chinese Ambassador to Liberia Meets with House Speaker

Monrovia, Liberia-H.E. Mr. ZHAO Jianhua, the newly arrived Chinese ambassador to the Republic of Liberia, has paid a courtesy visit to Honorable J. Alex Tyler, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Liberia on Monday, May 9, 2011.

Meeting with Speaker Tyler, Ambassador ZHAO reiterated Chinese commitment to the peace and development of the postwar country. “China will continue to provide its assistance to Liberia. It is China’s set policy to strengthen and deepen its relations with Liberia”, the Chinese envoy remarked.

In response, Speaker Tyler expressed his warm welcome to the newly arrived Chinese ambassador and congratulated Ambassador ZHAO for his successful presentation of credentials to Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. While briefing Ambassador ZHAO the introduction of the basic information on the House, Speaker Tyler also said, he “is willing to be helpful in improving the bilateral relations between China and Liberia”.
