Chinese Ambassador H.E. Mr. REN Yisheng pays courtesy calls on Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of Youth and Sports of the Liberia government

The Chinese Ambassador H.E. Mr. REN Yisheng paid courtesy calls on Minister of Commerce and Industry Hon. Mr. Wilson K. Tarpeh and Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Mr. D. Zeogar Wilson on September 15th and 17th respectively.

During the courtesy call on Minister Tarpeh, the two sides exchanged views on Sino-Liberian cooperation in areas such as commerce, trade, industry, human resource development and etc.

Minister Tarpeh reiterated Liberia’s firm adherence to the One-China Policy, hoped the Chinese side can assist in the construction of Liberia’s National Standard Laboratory. He also welcomed foreign countries, including China, to make more investments in Liberia.

When meeting with Minister Wilson, the two sides exchanged views on how to strengthen vocational and technical training for the youth, cooperation in sports as well as cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. Both sides also subscribed to enhance cooperation in relevant areas and actively implement the consensus reached between Presidents of the two countries during the FOCAC Beijing Summit back in 2018.
