Recently, Chinese Ambassador H.E. Mr. Ren Yisheng has paid courtesy calls on United Nations Resident Coordinator in Liberia Dr. Kingsley Opoku Amaning, Resident Representative for UNDP Liberia Dr. Pa Lamin Beyai (by video conference), and met with the Country Manager of International Development Law Organisation in Liberia Dorah Caroline Mafabi.

On behalf of the United Nations agencies in Liberia, Dr. Kingsley Opoku Amaning welcomed Ambassador Ren to take up his post in Liberia. Dr. Amaning and others respectively introduced the establishment of the United Nations agencies in Liberia, the work of UNDP and IDLO in Liberia, spoke highly of China's positive contribution to peace and development in Africa, including Liberia, and hoped to maintain communication and coordination with the Chinese side on international cooperation in Liberia to jointly promote the development of Liberia in various fields.

Ambassador Ren appreciated the positive role played by the United Nations and other international organizations in promoting post-war reconstruction in Liberia and said that China is willing to actively support the work of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Liberia, further strengthen communication and coordination with the United Nations and other international organizations in Liberia, deepen the connotation of cooperation, explore ways of international cooperation in line with the national conditions of Liberia, and participate more deeply in the global governance system.
