On May 7, Chinese ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Liberia Hon. Bhofal Chambers. The two sides exchanged views on China-Liberia friendship and pragmatic cooperation in various fields. Defense Attache Sen. Col. Han Xiao of the embassy was present.

Ambassador Ren said that the friendship between China and Liberia has become stronger over time. China highly appreciates the Liberian Legislature's long-term firm adherence to the one-China principle and its contributions to the development of China-Liberia relations. China will continue to uphold the principles of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith and pursue the greater good and shared interests. China will work with Liberia to overcome the impact of Covid-19 epidemic and other challenges, and deepen exchanges and cooperation in such areas as legislation, economy and trade, anti-epidemic, and humanities, so as to inject new impetus into bilateral relations.

Speaker Chambers thanked China for its long-term important contribution to the economic and social development of Liberia, saying that China has always done what it says, and China's aid is pragmatic and reliable. Liberia will continue to adhere to the one-China policy and is willing to continue to deepen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of legislation, economy and trade, health, and agriculture, and further enrich the connotation of the friendly cooperative relations between the two countries.
