Ambassador Ren Yisheng Attends the Training Graduation Ceremony of a Liberian Charity Organization

On May 21, H.E. Ren Yisheng, Chinese ambassador to Liberia, was invited to attend the training graduation ceremony of "Group 77", a charity organization for people with disabilities in Liberia. More than 100 people attended the event, including Liberian Vice President Madam Jewel Howard-Taylor, envoys of relevant countries in Liberia, representatives of international organizations and Liberian social organizations .

 

In his speech, Ambassador Ren congratulated the graduates with disabilities and expressed appreciation for the contribution of "Group 77" led by Vice President Taylor in helping the disabled realize their self-worth and promote social stability and development. Ambassador Ren emphasized that in recent years, the friendship between the Chinese and Liberian people has continued to deepen, and pragmatic cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results, which have played an important role in enhancing the well-being of the two peoples. China attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with charitable organizations such as "Group 77", and will continue to provide assistance to the disability groups within its capacity in the fields of agriculture, cultural exchanges and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs), and promote the development of the cause of the disabled in both countries.

In her speech, Vice President Taylor thanked China for its support in promoting Liberian post-war reconstruction and economic and social development, strengthening human resource development in Liberia, and helping disadvantaged groups such as the disabled, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic by donating anti-epidemic materials and urgently needed equipment. She encourages the disabled to be self-reliant and hopes that China and other international partners will continue to support the development of the cause for the disabled.

During the event, Ambassador Ren and other diplomatic envoys and representatives of international organizations issued certificates to graduates with disabilities.
