Recently, Chinese ambassador to Liberia H.E.Ren Yisheng met with Hon. Rev, Festus R. B. Logan, Commissioner/Executive Director of the Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC)via video link.

Ambassador Ren highly appreciated the efforts made by the LRRRC in improving the situation of refugees in Liberia and in repatriation and resettlement. He said that China and Africa and China and Liberia are a community with a shared future. Since the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, China and Liberia have overcome the adverse effects of the pandemic and have achieved remarkable results in cooperation in economic, trade, and anti-pandemic areas. China is willing to continue to strengthen pragmatic cooperation with the LRRRC and provide assistance within its capacity to the cause of refugee protection in Liberia.

Commissioner Logan thanked the Chinese government for its long-term great help to the government and people of Liberia, expected China to provide assistance in capacity building, training, agricultural development, etc., and help the LRRRC to continue to do a good job in refugee protection, repatriation, resettlement and other related work.

During the meeting with Hon. D. Nyandeh Sieh, Sr.,the two sides exchanged views on Sino-Liberia cooperation in agriculture, infrastructure construction, economic and trade investment, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges.
