On September 28th, Chinese ambassador to Liberia H.E.Ren Yisheng and Liberia's Vice President H.E. Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor co-attended the handover ceremony of humanitarian aid and anti-epidemic supplies held at the Chinese Embassy. Ambassador Ren, on behalf of the All-China Women's Federation, China Disabled Persons' Federation, China Charity Federation, Ting Hsin Foundation, and other 10 institutions and charity organizations, donated a number of learning tools and daily necessities and anti-epidemic supplies to the "Jewel Starfish Foundation" and "Group 77" led by Vice President Taylor.

In his speech, Ambassador Ren commended the efforts of relevant charitable organizations led by Vice President Taylor to protect the rights and interests of vulnerable groups such as women, children and the disabled. He said that China and Liberia are good brothers and partners, and China has always firmly supported the development of various fields including the protection of women, children and the disabled. Ambassador Ren emphasized that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Over the past century, under the strong leadership of the CPC, the Chinese people have made great achievements in revolution, construction and reform, and achieved major decisive victories in poverty alleviation and the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic. In recent years, the friendly relations between China and Liberia have continued to develop in depth, and pragmatic cooperation in various fields has achieved remarkable results. China will continue to deepen all-round and pragmatic cooperation with Liberia, strengthen cooperation in the fields of anti-epidemic, agriculture, infrastructure, and cultural exchanges, and continue to provide assistance within its capacity to promote the protection of women, children and the disabled in Liberia.

In her speech, Vice President Taylor warmly congratulated the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. She expressed that the friendship between Liberia and China will last forever and that China is an important partner of Liberia. On behalf of the Liberian government and people, she thanked China for its strong support for Liberia's economic and social development and construction in various fields, and thanked the All-China Women's Federation, China Disabled Persons' Federation, China Charity Federation, Ting Hsin Foundation and other charity organizations and institutions for their donation of the anti-epidemic materials and expressed that they will use them for their intended purposes. Vice President Taylor hoped that China will continue to provide assistance in the fields of agriculture, infrastructure, human resource capacity building, and protection of disadvantaged groups.
