On March 8, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng met with Mr. Uchenna Emelonye, the Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNCHR) in Liberia. The two sides exchanged views on carrying out pragmatic cooperation in the field of human rights in Liberia. Director of the Political Section of the Embassy Li Zhaoxin was present.

Ambassador Ren introduced the brilliant achievements of the Communist Party of China (CPC) since its founding 100 years ago and the positive progress of China-Africa and China-Liberia friendly and pragmatic cooperation. Ren emphasized that China firmly upholds the international multilateral system with the United Nations at its core, and is willing to work with the UNCHR to jointly promote the development of the international human rights cause.

Mr. Emelonye congratulated the successful hosting of the Beijing Winter Olympics, and spoke highly of the tremendous development achievements China has made in economic and social development and human rights. He hoped that the two sides will strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation, and China's relevant experience will be shared with Africa and Liberia.
