On May 6, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng was invited to attend the inauguration ceremony of the LBS Digital Television and Radio Studio and delivered a speech. Mr. Li Jiang, the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy, Hon. Ledgerhood Rennie, Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism of the Republic of Liberia, Hon. Dester Zeogar Wilson, Minister of Youth & Sports, Prof. Dr. Ansu Dao Sonii Sr., Minister of Education, Hon. Estelle Liberty Kemoh, Director General of Liberia Broadcasting System(LBS) and the Board of Directors and Management of LBS, the Chinese technicians of the Fifth Phase of Technical Assistance Project Team of China Radio Aid to Liberia, as well as members of the House of Representatives, government officials and media representatives attended the event. 

Ambassador Ren visited the digital TV and radio studio of the radio station and cut the ribbon in celebration of the completion of the new studio. In his speech, Ambassador Ren introduced the achievements of China-aided radio station technical cooperation projects launched since 2008, as well as the ongoing radio station maintenance and expansion projects and other China-aided construction projects, commended the Chinese technical team for their unremitting efforts over the past 14 years, and emphasized that China will continue to deepen China-Liberia friendship and pragmatic cooperation. Ambassador Ren also publicized the Global Security Initiative (GSI) officially proposed by President Xi Jinping at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2022, expounding China's desire to combine the GSI and the Global Development Initiative with the "Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development " and the Africa 2063 Agenda to jointly maintain world peace and security and promote global prosperity and development. 

The Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism of Liberia and other government representatives, the Director General of LBS and the management team expressed their gratitude to the Chinese side for technical assistance projects implemented in recent years, and expressed that they will continue to strengthen cooperation with the Chinese side in various fields to benefit the people of Liberia and deepen the friendship between China and Liberia.
