​Chinese Ambassador Ren Yisheng Meets Liberian Minister of Finance and Development Planning

On May 11, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng met with Hon. Samuel D. Tweah Jr., Minister of Finance and Development Planning of Liberia. Mr. Li Jiang, the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy was present. 

Ambassador Ren spoke positively of the friendly and cooperative relations between China and Liberia, appreciated the efforts made by the Liberian government for the country's economic and social development, shared the successful experience of China's reform and opening up, and stressed that the Chinese government always adopts an open attitude and is willing to continue to strengthen pragmatic cooperation with Liberia in various fields. 

Minister Tweah reiterated Liberia’s firm support to the one-China principle and thanked China for its long-term assistance to Liberia's economic and social development. He introduced Liberia's development planning and policy in the fields of food security and agricultural development, roads, telecommunications, airport and port construction, social welfare, improvement of primary medical and health conditions, power grid construction, new energy development and utilization, and anti-corruption and purification of the business environment in the next two years. 

Both parties agreed to maintain communication on specific project cooperation matters.
