​Chinese Ambassador Ren Yisheng Meets Liberian Representative of Montserrado County District 12

On June 7, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng met with Dr. George B. Samah, Representative of Montserrado County District 12.

Ambassador Ren elaborated on the great achievements in revolution, construction, reform and development in the new era China has made under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) since its funding 100 years ago, as well as the people-centered development philosophy, and the outcome of China-Africa and China-Liberia cooperation under the framework of the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the “Nine Programs” of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). He briefed on China's principled position on the Ukrainian crisis, the Global Development Initiative (GDI) and the Global Security Initiative (GSI) proposed by President Xi Jinping, and the first National Conference on the Right to Development in Liberia jointly held by the Chinese Embassy and the UN Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Liberia. Ambassador Ren also appreciated Dr. Samah's efforts to promote regional economic development and improve people's livelihood, and said that China is willing to continue to provide assistance to Liberia within its capacity, work hand in hand with Liberia to strengthen pragmatic cooperation in various fields and continue to advance the building of a China-Liberia community with a shared future. 

Dr. Samah expressed his admiration of the great achievements made by the Chinese people under the leadership of the CPC, thanked the Chinese side for its long-term contribution to the economic and social development of Liberia, expressed that Liberia is willing to learn from China's successful development experience and strengthen bilateral cooperation in education, health, agriculture, economy and trade and other fields, and hoped that China will support the construction and development of the region and encourage more Chinese enterprises to invest and do business in Liberia.
