On July 18, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng met with Hon. Henry B. Fahnbulleh, Principal Deputy Foreign Minister of Liberia. The two sides exchanged views on China-Liberia relations and cooperation in various fields. Mr. Xu Kun, Political Counselor of the Embassy was present.

Ambassador Ren briefed that nearly 100 countries supported China's position on human rights issues through joint or individual statements at the 50th session of the UN Human Rights Council, and expressed that China will, based on the principles of respecting each other's core interests, equality and mutual benefit, promote the development of bilateral relations between China and Liberia and deepen pragmatic and friendly cooperation in various fields.

Principal Deputy Foreign Minister Fahnbulleh reiterated that Liberia will continue to abide by the one-China policy, appreciated China's economic and social development achievements in recent years and hoped that the exchanges and cooperation with China will be strengthened and the bilateral relations will continue to move forward.
