On July 19, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng met with Mr. Varney Jarsey, the newly-elected Chairman of All-Africa Student Union (AASU). The two sides exchanged views extensively on China-Liberia relations and cooperation in various fields as well as youth development issues. 

Ambassador Ren introduced that for the past 100 years, the Communist Party of China (CPC) has united and led the people of all ethnic groups in the country to score great achievements in revolution, construction, reform and development in the new era, as well as the people-centered development philosophy, and briefed the outcomes of mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation achieved under the framework of the "Belt and Road" Initiative (BRI) and the “Nine Programs” of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). He stressed that youth is the future of the country and the hope of the nation, and the whole society should work together to support the healthy development of youth. Ambassador Ren expressed that the Chinese embassy in Liberia is willing to provide support within its capacity to AASU and Liberian youth by bridging the exchanges and cooperation between  the youth of China and AASU and Liberia, and to constantly promote the development of China-Africa and China-Liberia relations and friendly pragmatic cooperation in various fields.

Mr. Jarsey recalled his training experience in China and expressed that he was deeply impressed by China's economic and social development achievements in recent years. He thanked China for its long-term support and contribution to the cause of national liberation and economic and social development in Africa, and hoped that the exchanges and cooperation between AASU and the Chinese young students will be strengthened, and the true and objective image of China will be displayed to the African people, especially the young students, and the relationship between the two sides will continue to develop. 

Ambassador Ren presented Mr. Jarsey with "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" (Volumes 1-3 in English), and the two sides agreed to maintain communication on relevant cooperation matters.
