On July 27, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng met with Mrs. Florence Mamusu Thornes, Chairman of Liberia National Wheelchair Basketball Federation. The two sides exchanged views on China-Liberia relations and pragmatic cooperation in sports development for the disabled, protection of vulnerable groups and other fields.

Ambassador Ren said that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), China has made historic achievements in the protection of the rights and interests of persons with disabilities, and the development of sports for the disabled in China has made great progress. Ambassador Ren appreciated Mrs.Thornes' efforts to promote the development of sports for the disabled in Liberia and the protection of vulnerable groups, and expressed that China is willing to provide assistance to Liberia within its capacity, so as to bridge the exchanges and cooperation between the vulnerable groups in China and Liberia.

Mrs. Thornes sincerely admired China's great achievements in economic and social development and the protection of the rights and interests of persons with disabilities, and expressed her willingness to carry out close cooperation with China to continuously promote new progress in bilateral cooperation in sports for the disabled and protection of vulnerable groups.
