Chinese Ambassador Ren Yisheng Attends the Annual Stakeholder’s  Meeting of College of Research and Gender Studies of the University of Liberia

On September 9, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng attended the annual stakeholders meeting of College of Research and Gender Studiesat the Findall Campus of the University of Liberia, and donated a batch of office equipment and sports supplies to the college on behalf of the embassy. About 200 people attended the event, including Hon. Augustus J. Flomo, Deputy Minister for Economic Management, Ministry of Finance & Development Planning, Hon. Parleh D. Harris, Deputy Minister for Administration, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Ms. Mamawa M. Freeman-Moore, Dean of Honors College of Research and Gender Studies, Mr. Jim Wright, USAID-Liberia Mission Director, and faculty and students from the college.

In his speech, Ambassador Ren introduced the historic achievements China has made in economic development, opening to the outside world, system construction, social life, ecological protection and women's cause since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and appreciated the work done by the College of Research and Gender Studies to promote gender equality, empower women and other disadvantaged groups and help them develop. Ambassador Ren said that the Findall Campus of the University of Liberia was built with Chinese aid, which is one of the many achievements of China-Liberia friendly and pragmatic cooperation. China will continue to vigorously promote the friendly and pragmatic cooperation between China and Liberia, people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries, and continue to support the development of higher education in Liberia.

Dean Moore appreciated the assistance and support provided by the Chinese government for the development of higher education in Liberia. She expressed her sincere gratitude to the Chinese Embassy in Liberia for providing material support to the college, and hoped that the two sides would further strengthen cooperation in such areas as education and infrastructure.
