Chinese Ambassador Ren Yisheng Meets President of Bomi Community College and Attends the Material Donation Ceremony

On September 30, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng met with Dr. Abimelech Paye Gbatu, President of the Bomi Community College (BCC), and attended the ceremony of donating materials by the embassy to BCC.

Ambassador Ren introduced the great achievements of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) in the past century, especially since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, and the upcoming 20th National Congress of the CPC. He commended the significant changes of BCC after Dr. Gbatu took office, and encouraged him to unite the faculties and students of the school and make continuous efforts to build a comprehensive university. Ambassador Ren assured that the Chinese embassy is willing to continue to provide assistance in cultural exchanges, capacity enhancement, material assistance and scholarships.

President Gbatu congratulated the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and wished the forthcoming the 20th National Congress of the CPC a success. He said that his study experience in China has impacted his development, thanked the Chinese embassy for its contribution to the construction and development of BCC, and expressed that he would do everything possible to upgrade the school's infrastructure and build it into a new comprehensive university in Liberia.

After the meeting, Ambassador Ren officially handed over the solar lamp poles, desks and other materials donated by the embassy to Dr. Gbatu, and awarded the "Chinese Ambassador Scholarship" to the students of excellence of the school.
