Chinese Ambassador Ren Yisheng Attends the "Diplomatic Development Initiative" Lecture Series and Delivered a Speech

On October 20, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng attended the lecture series organized by Liberia's "Diplomatic Development Initiative", and delivered a speech on the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), China's foreign policy and its policy toward Africa and Liberia. The executive director of the training center of the “Diplomatic Development Initiative” and the trainees participated in the event.

Ambassador Ren introduced the ongoing 20th National Congress of the CPC, especially the brilliant achievements of China's economic and social development in the past ten years in the new era, as well as the work priorities for the next five years. He elaborated on the major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics and foreign policy toward Africa and Liberia, focusing on the alignment of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative with the African Union's “Agenda 2063”, the “Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development” and other African development initiatives, and the active implementation of  the “Nine Programs” of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and its achievements. Ambassador Ren also took questions from the moderator and audience on China's aid to Africa and Liberia in infrastructure construction, agriculture, energy, human resources development and cooperation, the Taiwan question, the Ukraine crisis, etc., and expounded China's position on relevant issues.

The traineesresponded enthusiastically to the lecture. They thanked China for its long-term great contribution to the economic and social development of Africa and Liberia, looked forward to learning from China's development experience and jointly promoting China-Africa and China-Liberia pragmatic cooperation to a new level.
