Chinese Ambassador Ren Yisheng Meets the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Liberia

On November 3, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng met with Hon. Bhofal Chambers, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Liberia. The two sides exchanged views extensively on China-Liberia relations and cooperation in various fields. 

Ambassador Ren briefed on the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), appreciated Liberian Parliament's affirmation of Liberia's position of adhering to the one-China principle through legislation, introduced that nearly 100 countries supported China's position on Xinjiang-related issues through joint or individual statements at the 77th session of the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly, and hoped that China and Liberia will further promote the development of bilateral relations and deepen pragmatic and friendly cooperation in various fields on the basis of mutual respect for sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit.

House Speaker Chambers thanked Ambassador Ren for briefing on the 20th National Congress of the CPC, warmly congratulated General Secretary Xi Jinping on his re-election, and believed that China will surely achieve greater development achievements in the new era. He reiterated that Liberia will continue to abide by the one-China principle, stressed that the House of Representatives of Liberia will not do anything to undermine China's interests, commended China's great achievements in economic and social development and promotion and protection of human rights, and hoped to maintain close cooperation with China to push forward bilateral relations.
