Chinese Ambassador Ren Yisheng Has a Working Exchange with President Pro-Tempore of the Liberian Senate

On November 22, Chinese ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng had a working exchange with Hon. Albert T. Chie, President Pro-Tempore of the Liberian Senate and his entourage. The two sides had an extensive change of views on China-Liberia relations and cooperation in various fields.

Ambassador Ren briefed on the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), appreciated the Liberian legislature’s firm position of adhering to the one-China principle through legislation, and introduced that nearly 100 countries supported China's position on Xinjiang-related issues through joint or separate statements at the 77th Third Committee session of the UN General Assembly. Ambassador Ren hoped that China and Liberia will further promote the development of bilateral relations and deepen pragmatic and friendly cooperation in various fields including between the legislative bodies of the two countries on the basis of mutual respect for sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit.

Hon. President Pro-Tempore Chie once again congratulated the convening of the 20th National Congress of the CPC and the re-election of General Secretary Xi Jinping, and believed that China will achieve greater development achievements in the new era. He  reiterated that Liberia will continue to abide by the one-China principle, appreciated China's great achievements in economic and social development and promotion and protection of human rights, thanked China for its great assistance in Liberia's economic and social development, and hoped to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries, so as to promote the continuous development of the friendly and pragmatic cooperative relations between the two countries.
