On December 13, Chinese ambassador to Liberia H.E. Ren Yisheng met with Hon. Kwame Oldpa Weeks, Director General of Liberia News Agency (LINA) , and the two sides had cordial and friendly exchanges on China's experience in governing the country and the friendly cooperation between China and Liberia. 

Director General Weeks shared with Ambassador Ren his various experiences during his participation in the 2022 Beijing University Scholarship Program in China, including visiting Beijing, Yan'an, Zhejiang and other places, and personally witnessing the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He appreciated China's great achievements in economic construction, poverty alleviation, green development, science and technology, epidemic prevention and control,  and lamented that his original impression of China had been completely subverted, and believed that the key to China's great achievements is effective national governance, which is worth learning from.  

Ambassador Ren was very pleased with Mr. Weeks’ fruitful trip. He shared with Mr. Weeks the significance of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, and introduced important concepts such as the whole-process people's democracy, Chinese path to modernization, multi-party cooperation and political consultative system, and a community with a shared future for mankind. Ambassador Ren pointed out that it is a complete lie to spread the "genocide" and "forced labor" in Xinjiang by some Western countries in the United Nations human rights mechanisms and elsewhere. China and Liberia are good friends and good partners, and should respect each other and treat each other as equals. Ambassador Ren encouraged Mr. Weeks to actively publicize his visit to China to the Liberian society, so that the Liberian people can have a more comprehensive understanding of China and contribute to the friendship between China and Liberia, which was endorsed by Mr. Weeks. 

After the meeting, Ambassador Ren presented the fourth volume of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" to Mr. Weeks.
