On March 31, Chargé d'Affaires Mr. Xu Kun had a working exchange with Hon. Conmany Wesseh, Co-Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Liberian Senate and his entourage. The two sides had an extensive change of views on China-Liberia relations and cooperation in various fields.

Mr. Xu Kun introduced the 20th National Congress of the CPC and the 2023 Two Sessions, and spoke highly of the efforts made by the Liberia Parliament to adhere to the One China principle. Xu said that China and Liberia have a traditional friendship, and China has always regarded Liberia as a good brother and partner. He hoped that the two sides would further promote the development of bilateral relations and deepen practical and friendly cooperation in various fields on the basis of mutual respect for sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, and equality and mutual benefit.

Senator Wesseh warmly congratulated China on the smooth convening of the two sessions in 2023, appreciated China's great achievements in economic and social development, thanked China for its strong assistance in promoting economic and social development, and hoped to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries, so as to promote the continuous development of friendly and practical cooperative relations between the two countries.
