Ambassador Yin Chengwu Attends the World Wetlands Day |

On February 3rd, Yin Chengwu, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, attended the World Wetlands Day Celebration hosted by the Environment Protection Agency of Liberia (EPA) and delivered a keynote address. The event was also attended by Dr. Emmanuel K. Urey Yarkpawolo, Executive Director of the EPA. Yin introduced the important concepts of Xi Jinping's Thought of Ecological Civilization, cited China's achievements in wetland conservation and other areas of ecological civilization, recalled that representatives from the first 18 member countries, including Liberia, jointly signed an agreement and inaugurated the International Mangrove Center (IMC) in Shenzhen. Yin also said that in implementing the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and advancing the China-Liberia strategic partnership, China is willing to strengthen mutual learning in the field of environmental protection with the Liberian side, and to promote the building of a community of life for man and nature, so as to build a cleaner, more beautiful world together. Director Yarkpawolo, on behalf of President Boakai, thanked China for taking the initiative to establish the International Mangrove Center and expressed his willingness to strengthen cooperation with China and work together to build a good ecological environment. |
