On February 27, the Chinese Embassy in Liberia hosted the 20th anniversary of the re-dispatch of China Medical Team to Liberia and welcome & farewell reception. Ambassador Yin Chengwu, Minister of Health of the Republic of Liberia Hon. Dr. Louise Kpoto, and China Heilongjiang Provincial Health Commission International Division Director Jin Jian addressed the audience. More than 100 individuals participated, including members of the 16th and 17th China Medical Teams, and delegates from the Liberian Ministry of Health, JFK Medical Center.

Yin emphatically praised the China Medical Team's accomplishments over the 20 years since their re-dispatch, recognizing them as hero who saves lives and helps the wounded, the messenger of China-Liberia friendship, bridge for health cooperation and the embodiment of international humanity. He emphasized implementing the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit, contributing to ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID), and strengthening the strategic partnership between the our two nations.

Jin stressed the sustained strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the health sector.

Kpoto expressed gratitude to China for its sustained contributions to Liberia's healthcare sector, and presented certificates of honor to China Heilongjiang Provincial Health Commission and the 16th China Medical Team.
