On November 29, 2021 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Minister of State and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Cote d'Ivoire Kandia Camara in Dakar on the sidelines of the Eighth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

Wang Yi extended his congratulations on Cote d'Ivoire's active fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and its efforts to achieve economic growth at medium-high speed. China-Cote d'Ivoire relations maintain sound and stable progress and our practical cooperation proceeds smoothly. China has become Cote d'Ivoire's largest bilateral financing partner and its third-largest trading partner. The cooperation projects on infrastructure and public welfare between the two countries have yielded favorable economic and social benefits.

Wang Yi welcomed Cote d'Ivoire to make use of important platforms such as China International Import Expo, China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo and China Import and Export Fair to present cocoa and other specialty products and achieve mutual benefits and win-win results. President Xi Jinping announced that China will open "green lanes" for African agricultural exports to China and set up earmarked funds for financing imports from Africa, which will further facilitate Cote d'Ivoire's agricultural exports to China. China is ready to work with African countries including Cote d'Ivoire to produce more tangible outcomes of China-Africa cooperation.

Camara said, China is Cote d'Ivoire's good partner. China has not only timely provided Cote d'Ivoire with vaccines and medical supplies to strongly support our fight against the pandemic but also significantly contributed to our economic growth and the improvement of people's lives. Cote d'Ivoire looks forward to expanding bilateral economic and trade cooperation and welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest in Cote d'Ivoire to help improve our capacities of raw material processing.

The two sides agreed to make this ministerial conference a success and inject strong impetus into the mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Africa.
