Li Keqiang Meets with Indonesian President Joko Widodo

On the afternoon of July 26, 2022, Premier Li Keqiang met with visiting Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

Li Keqiang said, China and Indonesia are friendly neighbors, major developing countries in the region, and natural partners for cooperation. President Xi Jinping will hold talks with you to promote the in-depth development of bilateral relations. Under the current complicated international situation, China is ready to work with Indonesia to consolidate political mutual trust, adhere to mutual respect and equal treatment, strengthen the synergy between development strategies, and push all-round, multi-tier and high-level cooperation between the two countries to a broader field and deeper direction, so as to better benefit the two peoples, maintain peace and stability in the region, and promote development and prosperity.

Li Keqiang pointed out, China is ready to work with Indonesia to give full play to the complementary advantages in resources and industrial fields, advance the construction of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway and manufacturing cooperation, deepen cooperation in key areas such as trade and investment, energy, mining and agriculture, and strengthen cooperation in currency swap. China is willing to support and actively participate in the construction of Indonesia's new capital and industrial parks, and expand the import of palm oil and other quality Indonesian agricultural products. China is willing to speed up the resumption of personnel exchanges between the two countries and enhance people-to-people exchanges based on the good work in pandemic prevention and control. China supports Indonesia in hosting the G20 Summit this year.

Li Keqiang said, China's cooperation with Indonesia is of mutual benefit and reciprocity and can also set an example for China-ASEAN cooperation. He hopes that Indonesia will continue to play a positive role in promoting the implementation process of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). Peace and stability in the South China Sea serve the interests of all parties. China is willing to work with ASEAN countries to actively expand practical maritime cooperation, strive to reach the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea as early as possible, and give play to the wisdom of all parties to build the South China Sea into a sea of peace, friendship and cooperation.

President Joko Widodo said, Indonesia and China are comprehensive strategic partners and bilateral cooperation has achieved mutual benefit and win-win results. Indonesia is willing to work with China to promote the completion of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway as scheduled, and to advance pragmatic cooperation in trade and investment, finance, manufacturing, agriculture, maritime and other fields to achieve more positive results.
