Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov Meets with Wang Yi

On July 30, 2022 local time, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov met with State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Cholpon-Ata.

Zhaparov asked Wang Yi to convey his sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping, expressing that the Kyrgyz side always cherishes the Kyrgyzstan-China friendship, and sincerely thanks the Chinese side for providing firm support and valuable assistance for Kyrgyzstan in safeguarding sovereignty and security, accelerating economic development, and improving people's livelihood. With the concerted efforts of the two sides, from knowing each other and establishing diplomatic ties to forging a comprehensive strategic partnership, Kyrgyzstan and China have set an example of good neighborliness and friendship among neighboring countries. The Kyrgyz side will continue to stand firmly with the Chinese side on all issues concerning China's core interests. The Kyrgyz side is ready to deepen the alignment of each other's development strategies, expand cooperation in economy, trade and investment between the two countries, and advance people-to-people and cultural exchanges at the sub-national level. The Kyrgyz side regards the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway as an important part of the Belt and Road cooperation, thanks the Chinese side for sending experts to survey on site in Kyrgyzstan, and eagerly expects to accelerate the implementation of this state-level cooperation project.

Wang Yi conveyed the cordial greetings of President Xi Jinping, expressing that the successful meeting between the two heads of state in February this year has injected strong impetus into bilateral relations. Kyrgyzstan and China are linked by mountains and rivers. Maintaining political, social and policy stability serves the interests of Kyrgyzstan and its people, helps Kyrgyzstan accelerate its development and revitalization, and is also China's sincere wish. The Chinese side will continue to firmly support the Kyrgyz side in safeguarding its sovereignty, security and development interests, resolutely oppose interference by any forces in Kyrgyzstan's internal affairs, and will always be a trustworthy and reliable partner of Kyrgyzstan.

Wang Yi emphasized, with unremitting efforts of both sides, China and Kyrgyzstan have truly become good neighbors, good friends, good partners and good brothers. Strengthening strategic coordination between the two countries and elevating the China-Kyrgyzstan comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level conforms to the fundamental interests of the two countries and the common aspirations of the two peoples. The Chinese side stands ready to take the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties with the Kyrgyz side as a new starting point, jointly build the China-Kyrgyzstan community with a shared future, consolidate strategic mutual trust, strengthen coordination in international and regional affairs, and usher in another three golden decades for bilateral relations.

Wang Yi expressed, the conditions and time for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway are getting ripe, and the first batch of Chinese experts have arrived in Kyrgyzstan recently for a site survey and the construction process of this railway has kicked off. China stands ready to work with Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to speed up the feasibility study. China is willing to steadily advance cooperation in various fields and provide assistance to the best of its ability in accordance with the needs of Kyrgyzstan's national development and improvement of people's livelihood.

Zhaparov said, the Kyrgyz side highly appreciates and supports the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind put forward by President Xi Jinping, and is ready to join hands with the Chinese side to build a community with a shared future for the two countries. The close coordination between Kyrgyzstan and China in international and regional affairs reflects the high-level comprehensive strategic partnership. The Kyrgyz side welcomes and supports the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, and looks forward to continuing to strengthen cooperation under the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Central Asia+China and other mechanisms, and to jointly dedicate to promoting regional peace, stability and development.

On the same day, Wang Yi held talks with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev and jointly met the press.
