Wang Yi Speaks with French President's Diplomatic Advisor Emmanuel Bonne via Phone

On September 17, 2022, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a phone conversation with French President's Diplomatic Advisor Emmanuel Bonne.

Noting that China and France are permanent members of the UN Security Council and responsible major countries, Wang Yi said that maintaining the smooth and steady development of bilateral relations is in the interests of both countries and conducive to world peace and stability. Recently, the China-France Strategic Dialogue, Economic and Financial Dialogue, among others,  have yielded positive results, with the two sides reaching a full common ground on future cooperation priorities. China is ready to work with France to maintain high-level exchanges and strengthen strategic communication, so as to inject strong impetus into the development of bilateral relations and jointly address global challenges.

Bonne said that France attaches great importance to developing sound relations with China. In the face of the current complicated and turbulent international situation, France stands ready to work with China to maintain close high-level exchanges, strengthen dialogue on major issues concerning global security and stability, demonstrate active leadership and play an important role in ending conflicts and promoting peace.
