Premier Li Keqiang Respectively Meets and Talks with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, the ROK President Yoon Suk-yeol, and Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos on the Sidelines of Leaders' Meetings on East Asia Cooperation

On the morning of November 12, 2022 local time, Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council respectively met and talked with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, the ROK President Yoon Suk-yeol, and Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos on the sidelines of the Leaders' Meetings on East Asia Cooperation in Phnom Penh at the latters’ request.

When talking with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Li Keqiang said China and Japan are close neighbors who will always live next to each other. Both sides are committed to strengthening cooperation in the political, trade, economic and cultural fields and in people-to-people exchanges, and should jointly promote the steady and sound development of bilateral relations. Fumio Kishida said that as close neighbors, Japan and China have made remarkable progress in cooperation in various fields. The Japanese side agrees that Japan and China should pursue friendly relations, and will work with the Chinese side to keep advancing bilateral relations.

When talking with the ROK President Yoon Suk-yeol, Li Keqiang expressed the hope that China and the ROK will continue to uphold the spirit of mutual respect and mutually beneficial cooperation, and promote the sustained and sound development of bilateral cooperation in various fields. Yoon Suk-yeol expressed the hope to work with the Chinese side to promote greater development of the ROK-China relations on the basis of mutual respect and mutually beneficial cooperation.

When talking with Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, Li Keqiang said that China and the Philippines enjoy profound traditional friendship; the common interests of the two countries far outweigh the differences; and cooperation in various fields is developing well. China is ready to strengthen high-level exchanges with the Philippines and work with the Philippines and other ASEAN countries to jointly maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea on the basis of mutual respect. Marcos said that the Philippines is ready to strengthen high-level exchanges with China and work together in the spirit of partnership to promote new progress in bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields.
