On December 15, Ambassador Yin Chengwu attended the Handover Ceremony of the China-Aid Project of Emergency Humanitarian Food to Liberia. The event was also attended by Zhang Yiming, Counsellor of Economic and Commercial Office of Chinese Embassy, Hon. Magdalene Ellen Dagoseh, Minister of Commerce & Industry of Liberia, Hon. Hadja Mamaka Bility, Minister of State without Portfolio, and Hon. Cllr. Jeddi Mowbray Armah, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, etc. Ambassador Yin noted that this batch of food assistance is a significant move in implementing the outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the meeting between the two heads of state. It is a reflection of China’s long-standing commitment to supporting Liberia’s food security and the well-being of its people. It is also a vivid demonstration of China-Liberia strategic partnership. China will continue to work hand-in-hand with Liberia to enhancing Liberia’s food security and jointly building a community with a shared future for humanity. Hon. Dagoseh and other Ministers expressed gratitude for China’s assistance, and noted that the food aid not only reflects China's support for Liberia's efforts to achieve food security and socioeconomic development, but also represents a model of South-South cooperation. Liberia is willing to deepen the bilateral strategic partnership with China to advance its national development agenda. Days ago, Ambassador Yin and Hon. Dagoseh signed the handover certificate. |
