On December 30, 2025, while attending the New Year Celebration jointly hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Liberia and the Liberian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, reaffirmed Liberia’s commitment to the One-China Principle.

In her remarks, Nyanti said when President Joseph Boakai was the Vice President of Liberia and President of the Liberian Senate, he led the Liberian legislature to enact a foreign policy position, that Liberia would support the One-China Principle. The clarity of Liberia’s foreign policy made it easier for Liberia and China to work as true friends standing on principles that we agree on. Both Liberia and China agree on this direction we want to take.
