Ambassador Yin Chengwu meets with Liberia Maritime Authority Commissioner Neto Zarzar Lighe, Sr.

On April 2, H.E. Yin Chengwu, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, met with Hon. Cllr. Neto Zarzar Lighe, Sr., the Commissioner of the Liberia Maritime Authority.

Ambassador Yin briefed on the key outcomes of the National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, emphasizing that China will continue to advance high-level opening-up during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Yin introduced the “Five-Point Initiative of China and Pakistan For Restoring Peace and Stability in the Gulf and Middle East Region”, stating that both China and Liberia are major countries in international maritime area, with broad prospects for maritime cooperation. China is willing to work with Liberia to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, promote exchanges and cooperation in the maritime field, and continuously enrich the content of the China-Liberia strategic partnership.

Hon. Cllr. Lighe expressed his gratitude to China for its long-term support for Liberia's development and appreciated China's relevant position, stating that currently Liberia and China have close cooperation in the maritime field. Liberia will continue to expand economic and trade ties with China and deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
